President of the Federation of Trade Unions of Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region

Mr. Vladimir G. Derbin was born on November 17, 1946.

He is educated as a radio and electronics engineer and has a degree in public administration.

Mr. Vladimir Derbin started his career as a railroad worker, and then after graduation from the institute he worked as a foreman and an engineer.

Between 1981 and 1996 he was a full-time unionist, rising through the ranks from shop steward to President of the Regional Radio and Electronics Industry TU.

Between 1996 and 2004 he worked as a Chairman of the Labour and Social Welfare.

On January 26, Mr. Vladimir G. DERBIN was elected President of the Federation of Trade Unions of Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region.
